The 2002/03 Kahl hockey season is just coming out of the all-star break and as expected the powerhouse Western division teams are looking good. Colorado is sitting in first place overall with Calgary and San Jose in hot pursuit. San Jose superstar Mario Lemeiux is way out in front of the pack in league scoring with Calgary’s 1-2 punch of Oates and Jagr in the #2 and 3 positions. Vancouver is doing well in 4th place, 9th overall, and Surprise team of the year Dallas is in 5th. Dallas is an unexpected leader of the Central division after trading away all their veteran superstars for young, up and coming rookies. Henrik Zetterberg is the runaway leader in rookie scoring, as well as leading the Stars, and the next highest scoring rookies are 2nd line center Jason Spezza in 2nd and Justin Mapletoft in 3rd.

The Eastern division is being led by the Rangers, after years of overspending and underachieving they seem ready to do it this year. The trading away of Mario seems to have had little adverse effect on their team and if anything the talent they got in return has been they key to their run this year. Carolina, Montreal and Buffalo are all hot on the Ranger’s trail. Doug Weight of Montreal and Carolina’s Alexie Kovalev are both high on the scoring leader’s board and Buffalo’s team is led by Daniel Alferdsson. Close on these teams heals are The Washington Capitals, who boast possibly the best line of the league in Glen Murray, Milan Hejduk and Mike Modano and the defensively minded Toronto Maple Leafs.

Some surprises in the area of non-contenders are last years final four team Phoenix Coyotes and some former eastern powers. New Jersey, who went to the cup finals last year are 11th in the East but only 2 points out of a playoff berth. Tampa Bay and the Islanders were also predicted to go far this year and have so far fallen flat.

All in all the season is shaping up to be a good one with many playoff capable teams. It will be an honor and a privilege to watch the outcome unfold.

Also, please check the rules, they have been re-advised of late, it will show the last date that they have been tampered with at the bottom of the rules. Also, I'm team-less now, which I think is a good thing, I'll have complete control now, without a team, I can make clear decisions for the league without a doubt in my mind. Also, I may add to the rules, while I team is in-between General Managers, I might substitute for that team, as in sending in lines, signing prospects, Endorsements, free agency, depending on the time of the year. I'll have full control of the team, and will make choices that will benefit the team in the long run. This isn't set in stone yet, but I can't see why not, also, when I say, "Full Control" I mean full control of the team, as other Gm's have, it will only be a substitution until the team can find a permanent General Manager!

Last couple days the league site has been acting up, I have exceeded my Bandwidth limit, it happened twice yesterday, and before this, it has only occurred once since the league started!
I'll let it go a few more days and see what I will do, it might cool down, but if this starts happening a lot, I might have to upgrade to a Plus membership or other options!

League History has been added to the site, it's on the top of the page on the table with some other important links. Just about every thing that you could want from last year is there, I'm surprised, I thought I lost it all! One other note though, some games may show different scores then the boxscores show, namely any game with a '2' starting the digits. Because this season's been named 'KAHL2' so I guess those games will show the season seasons boxscores. Playoff boxscores are mostly lost, but all the other stats are good, if anyone finds some errors, please contact me.
